after months and months of asking my dad if we could go to the -newly renovated- driving range (since i got back from sydney), I am finally going today. in an hour actually!
you see going to the range isn't exactly something i can do myself. for one, there's my whole bag of clubs that i gotta lug with me. all that gear is no mean feat, esp without a car.
secondly, since i'm below 21, my dad has to be there personally to sign in to the members area of the driving range. as well as to provide funding (:P) to top up the card that when you tap on the machine dispenses the balls for you automatically ie. raises the tee, on your little square of green, with the ball loaded. if you're in the non-members area, you gotta go dispense a whole basket of balls from the clanky machine and pour em into the divider and you gotta set the ball up yourself everytime after youve hit a shot. PLUS the non-members area is on the hot sun on the upper floor. So as well as not being sheltered, you don't get a completely accurate gauge of your shot since it's from an elevated position.
so spoilt innit?
but frankly i'm more worried about being able to get the ball more than 70m. fuck lah. i know my short game is alright, but distance has always been inconsistent, and with months of disuse and lack of practice, who knows how much its deteriorated?
i shall endeavour to not get any blisters today. and i shall endeavour not to beat myself up (figuratively of course) if i *fail*.
it's alright to suck. it's alright to suck. *chants*

I'm empathizing with those non-members (back when I still "practiced" for fun, hahaha..)
Oh wait just asked my family, apparently we've enjoyed that service of having the machine load the golf ball up for you too. But I don't rmbr this, which tells you how much attn I paid then.
