oprah. and 3 of 5 ppl i'd like to have round for dinner

So today was watching oprah, as i always do on sunday nights. i also watch it evry weekday at 1pm too..if i wake up by then, that is. so anyways today's guest was uma thurman. yes, uma as in the indian name uma. yay mr and mrs thurman for being so experimental and brave in naming your child! she wasn't particulary rivetting, although i kept noticing her black ballet pumps.they were just so, down to earth. not all posh and pretentious, like stilletos are. i mean, someone like oprah can pull of stilettos without eliciting a reaction from me cos she worked hard to get to where she is now, but i feel that evryone else is just looking pretty for the sake of an image. thats what i like about emma watson too, the fact that her dressing is not so flashy and quite, humble, if i may use that word. she never ever wears heels. mostly its ballet pumps and cool ass boots and sneakers. and her outfits are just gloriously well put together.she can make a plain white tshirt and jlo jeans look like a million bucks without accesorising very much. ok i'll get a propa pic and say something next time.

so today oprah metioned 2 of her favourite questions that she likes to ask her guests. the first one's "what do you know for sure?" which is an excellent question to ask but a hard one to answer. one fo those curveball on the spot moments, when you dont wanna disappoint kinda question, innit? i feel that i'd have to be a lot older to answer it properly.when i've had enough experiences in life, then i'll answer it. but as for now, i feel i've already discussed this with someone really special, unintentionally and a day before the show aired so there's no need to blog about it. bueno? bueno. *big wink*"

her second question was "which 5 people would you invite to dinner?"" which seems innocent enough on the surface but man this question is deep. but i've shortlisted a couple of people already. when i read this post in say, 3 months time, i still think i'd have the same people on my list, even though the choices seemed to be influenced by recent events.
  1. Jamie Oliver. he's always been on my list. i even had the fact that i'd like to meet him on my friendster profile which was done a whole year ago. i've been watching this fella on all of his tv series exploits from the naked chef, to jamie's pukka tukka, to jamie's kitchen, to oliver's twist, to most recently, school dinners. i'm bloody surprised that i managed to get all the names of his shows down correct! haha. he is such a piece of work, in a good sense i mean. such a fantastic personality, that is so real that its almost sinful to say anything bad about him. he's a wonderful person with a real desire to help the community as he's illustrated in setting up 15 and starting on the school dinners project. he's a got a good head on his shoulders. one of the few good men. and he's aLAUGH. pukka. would like it it if he cooked the dinner though.
  2. Aishwarya Rai. if you've seen her give interviews before, you'd be mighty impressed. such an eloquent, articulate and incredibly smart lady. she really commands the attention of her audience and is such a charmer, in an un-shahrukh way. has this lovely, unpretentious laugh and this indecipherable, almost haughty look about her when provoked(or asked the wrong question).would love to have a conversation with her. and dinner would be an opportune time.
  3. karthik sundar. YES! i've had many an absolutely wonderful conversation with my K2 buddy from time to time. i daresay every convo we've had was quality and we talk about ALL sorts of things. from the silliest to the most serious. i can say anything and everything around him and i wouldnt feel the slightest bit akward. i dont even have that with some of my best friends for God's sakes.and he has an excellent taste in music too. one of the few good men i know :D

yeah, these are the 3 confirmed. i feel obliged to choose someone from my family, or extended family to fill up the other 2 places at the dinner table. but oh well, another time i guess. its 2am! OMG

oh btw john terry scored! nanny nanny poo poo. in the words of a member of the bollywood film fraternity, "he's ROCKING yaar!". love him even more now. haha. love's a strong word to use, but what the hell. love makes the world go round innit?well then, i'm off
