tomorrow may never come

this pic's hilarious(cos the trio look so goofy) and so are certain bits of the movie kal ho naa ho. but essentially its a serious, sad and absolutely riveting story.

first of all the funny parts. in true karan johar style(yes the karan from koffee with karan, every sunday night at 9pm on star world channel 18), there are constant references to his older movies and even cameos by his previous leading ladies. in this movie there was KAJOL(love her mainly cos she's played characters called Anjali so many times) and Rani mukherjee who looked very much like she did in khabi kushi. and that dating agency guy (rajpal yadav), even made a refernce to SRK's character from Dilwhale Dulhania Le jayenge.

moving on to the songs. EVERY SINGLE ONE WAS BRILLIANT. and thats an understatement. the best movie soundtrack that i have of all my OST's both from english and non-english movies. from pretty woman(dekko dekko na) to the G.U.J.J.U song, evry one was classic. and the title track piano meldoy will be etched in my musical memory for the rest of my life. just like, kuch kuch hota hai, or that track from mohabbatein and even the ah ah aaah-ing from kabhi kushi kabhi gham. the tune is so..memorable.and the song from which my screencap was taken from is Its the time to disco is WOW! so bloody seventies cool and their moves are S.LI.C.K. i've borrowed many a move from this vid in my dancing exploits ;)

as for the protagonists:
Srk plays his part extremely well but occassionally succumbs to his usual hamming up the scene and once in a while, over-melodramatising. saif was a wonderful surprise and almost like, the best chocolate in the box for me. i can excuse his metrosexual tendencies(which i HOPE were his charcter's and not his in real life), but other than that, especiallt during the proposing scene at "water's edge"i just felt every ounce of rohit's pain and shock and chagrin almost, at finding out that naina loved aman and not him. as for preity, i wouldnt have had ANYONE else in the world play naina. its just a large amount of felix felicis that kept kareena kappor from getting her dirty paws on this masterpiece of a movie.she would've been to much of a diva for naina's character. and honestly i can't imagine kareena in thick rimmed nerdy black glasses. it wouldve been absolutely horrible. kareena just doesnt possess the emotional capacity. as far as í'm concerned, she was born for the role of Pooja in KG3 cos that character personified miss shallow herself, kareena. sorry bout the ranting, but its the truth!

ok that's all for kal ho naa ho. now i'll go make another post about some other things Posted by Picasa
