i watch so much tennis its unhealthy..and it feeds my tv addiction, and general laziness, compounding the fact that i'm sick and can't do anything much other than watch tv and sleep.
woot.
i play tennis vicariously through the screen, though i know my backhand is MAJOR suckage (always has been) and i don't know if i even remember how to serve anymore :P I also long to go out on the court and prove to myself that I can play decently..which is why i asked vivek if he'd play with me. YOU KNOW WHAT HE SAID?? "I need more of a challenge lah"... -__- thanks ah bro. I'm not actually supposed to play until i recover, but heck, i need some goddamn exercise.
when ana lost her match, i was this close to putting " Oh Ana :( " on my fb status, but i figured fb doesn't need to be that clued in on my thoughts. BUT OH ANA indeed :( :( yes kenn, i wish she'd stop being so damn incosistent and get her act togetherrr!!
I mean look at Dinara Safina. She just won her qf match against Dokic 6-4 4-6 6-4. That girl works for the ball and does marvelous things to save break points..just like her bro, she has this flashes of multiple personalities (think Dr Jekyll, Mr Hyde) that either elevate or hinder her game. She's managed to tame that, and rise to the occassion more frequently than last time. And its proving advantageous to her game in general..she's amazing to watch, and i think she's well on her way to NUMBAH ONE babbyyy.
Have i mentioned how much i don't like Jankovic? can't stand her. Sharapova neither. Mad respekt for the Williams sisters, but I prefer the new blood when it comes to women's tennis. They switch it up and play a more exciting game.
The men on the other hand..are infinitely exciting. Laboriously so, when it goes to 5 sets. Except if nadal is playing..heh, he usually finishes it off in 3.
i LOVE to watch federer play. That man is the epitome of grace and execution. He is so stoic and composed on court, it's inspirational. Even when he's in a rut, he manages to draw upon the deepest reserves fathomable and pull back for wins. He's managed to find the right balance between celebrating and expressing disappointment at himself. I look up to someone like that because i'm wayy too emotional when i play sports..and i let losses and lapses of concentration affect me, i'll be the first to admit it. I take a long time to recover from a bad shot..be it golf, or tennis, or cricket; so yeah, just watch out, if you're playing with me :P
Roger has been almost the same way for the past 10 years of his career, since his monumental win over Sampras in Wimbledon. He still has his graciousness and more importantly his skill set which he constantly improves upon. It's like a mastercalss in tennis. Just like watching toger woods play is a masterclass in golf. He's a class act. LOVEE HIM. (and so does vijay amritraj- the commentator. HAHAH he's damn biased towards fed, can ya tell? but i ain't complaining :P)
Nole retiring from the match against Roddick..oh man :( what a pity. Well the temperature WAS 53 degrees (dear god!), but i didn't last long enough to watch him actually retire. Cough syrup makes you drowsy, you see.
okok gotta get back to fed vs del potro . looks like a walkover, but let's not be too overconfident. ok who am i kidding 6-3, 6-0 already :P
yes jean, a rafa-fed final would be awesomee! and an all russian women's final heh.
