The Police LIVE in Singapore

i fail at *rockstar* evidently. i'm too grinny methinks. (stop grinning,me!) vennie on the other hand...my my! intense!

before the ACTUAL gig started and after the opening act had played (btw the opening act "Fictionplane" is apparently Sting's son's band! so it made sense how much he sounded like his dad ven! it was surreal! we kept saying to each other "that right there. it sounded like Sting!'.. Joe Sumner's his name. he even plays the bass like his dad :D ) they played bob marley's "Get Up, Stand Up" as part of the warmup and this fella in the floor seats got up and started boogying. rightfully so! the reggae beat was infectious, and hell it was about time people started standing. its a FKIN ROCK CONCERT, ladywhosatbehindme, so don't go telling me to sit down *up yours*

STIIIIINNNGGGG!!!
when he came over to our side of the stadium yaaaayyy

the trio. "trio" is how i label my Muse group shots in My Pictures. but i realised i had to do that for my The Police pictures too.. i guess i have a thing for 3-piece bands (with phenomenal frontmen, insane drummers and that extra member who's a bit low profile but are an essential element..just like Dirty Pretty Things feels like it needs a bit of Doherty and Babyshambles is missing some Barat)

Sting (is he in LEATHER?!) yeah i'm the fkin idiot who forgot to bring my glasses. score anjali. score myopia. score sting's biceps yo!

Copeland during Wrapped Around Your Finger, when the entire percussion platform was elevated and you could see him tinkering with his timpanis and xylophone thingamajig. Any drummer who wear gloves (that looked alot like golf gloves lol) is hardcore.

during Roxanne, everything turned red ("you don't have to put on the red light"..geddit?) i think i wanted to cry cos it hit me right there and then that i was at THE POLICE reunion gig and they were performing live one of the most iconic songs of...forever. i think this was one of those points where ven and i agreed that we'd have killed ourselves if we missed this gig.

the crowd was 10,000-strong. "they sold out the place!", Sting said at the beginning of the concert. they even opened up last minute seats behind the stage lol, what a view it must've been! i'm not being completely sarcastic here. just imagine, a full stadium panoramic view...must've been summin special.

sting and andy getting it on *hides* i meant that in a completely non-sexual way (ha)
what an awesome lead guitar/bass solo/duo. andy could do no wrong on any of his solos! oh andyyyy you are guitar hero

sting strutting off before the encore. yes he was Strutting. his Victorian hand wave action is so Duke Orsino, no? (shakespeare's 12th night reference, in case you missed that). he's such a stud. and his eyes are so blue i could get lost in them forever. everytime his face popped up on the screen, you could see for yourself how blue his eyes were

i do wish i was down there at the floor seats. dancing with the superfans (i am Hardly a superfan..i'm a noob pls) and catching flying drum sticks/guitar picks and being drenched in the unimitable release and high that a rock concert gives you. oh wait, i got that last bit even where i was standing. that is the powerrrr (say it jeremy clarkson style) of The Police. stadium rock- i want MOAR. (actually fort canning not too bad either)

pretty lights! on the last song "Next To You", i think it was

rockstars. (i wish andy and stewart had said something though. sting did all the talking.)

it still needs to sink in. and i still need to look for the setlist (even though it looks exactly like the one i put up last year)
