Light touch my hand in a dream of golden skans, from now on. You can forget our future plans.

i've been interning.
i've been to the 3 courts, the MPA, PSA and various embassies while shadowing solicitors and notary public's offices, other law firms..those're the cool bits.
I've also been photocopying, scanning, faxing, binding, proof-reading, making calls, typing my fingers sore, doing simple reasearch, summarising cases, coming up with a constitution and constructing bill summaries (boy have they made me work).
intern/secretary/dispatch girl. I've blown in excess of $200 on taxi fare on behalf of the firm, travelling to the abovementioned places for clients. and yes, it all gets billed to the clients, as admin/travel costs. HA.

i've learnt so much, about the profession AND about myself. i never thought i would be competent enough to do the things that were thrust upon me. i've never had to feel so...responsible for things. then there's the disenchantment. at the family court, people were queing up to get divorced. there were the nasty emails in the liti department files. there was the meticulousness and immense importance accorded Standard of Procedure and protocol that was so frustrating.

i just wish i had the theory knowledge too, so i could wrap my head around things more comfortably. but the menial things..just have to get used to those lah..and Bob's your uncle.

i loved that the other office girls turned out to be such sweethearts..they really looked after me. i loved that the directors and associates were such warm people, and were so willing to teach.

i loved that i had a fantastic view for lunch, once in a while when we decided to have it at the fountain.

the views, OH the views! on the multiple taxi rides from suntec to the CBD, past the stunning architecture of Singapore past and present.

view from the office. the higher up the director was in the hierarchy, the more incredible the view was. this was at one of the extra offices for the conveyancing dept. you can see the Indoor Stadium haha. thank goodness vivek has cricket at the SCA at kallang, so i could get a lift home too :P train rides in the morning and evening are -__-. srsly.

a 9-6 job? i can deal widdit. i'm just glad it was one that challanged me, and one that had variety and options without which, my time there would've been dull and unengaging.

oh i believe in yesterday.
