Choli ke Piche Kya Hai

today in the papers Ong Sor Fern's review for The Darjeeling Limited came out. after i read it, i was like "haaaarsh!". she just tore it down maaan. i dont think she fully appreciated the quirky sartorialist aesthetic enough to enjoy the little details, the symbolism (which she picked up on, yes, but she dismissed them as mere accessories and not actually adding any value to the story)

but anyways, Marc Jacobs designed cases, trunks, duffels and satchels just for the movie. The print on the luggage is of a safari theme, with palm trees, rhinos, elephants (jeannn! :D ), cheetahs, giraffes what have you.

the detailing on each piece is amazing; from the straps to the burnished brass buckles and my personal favourite trait of each bag, if i should call it that, is the initials of the respective characters in big white letters.

i need a middle name man! or maybe i could break up my surname so it becomes A.R.R. Arrrrr...so swashbuckling.

moving along......each piece is so clever! the fiddly bits, the burst of apple green lining on the insides and the cream padding in this trunk for instance..
i got a text from Ven about MArc getting MIA to do his ads.can you imagine my face lighting up at the mere thought of such a groundbreaking collabo?!?!
she modelled for him! fwee weet!
she looks hot here...i've grown to love her rad higlights haha
but here (click to enlarge). she looks...sloshed : but screw that, i love the shoes, the velveteen sheen of the trousers and blazer and her sexaaaay touseled hair
i must must credit Vennie for being the one who intro-ed me to LV, Chanel, marc jacobs and louboutins and making me appreciate the craftmanship of such luxury goods. you pay for the attention given to each piece and to acknowledge the designers' fine piece of work.
this is as about close to "clean cut and putting a spin on formal" as i get. helped along by el kapitan kennef of course *wink*
speaking of MIA, my dad's gonna get Kala muahahaaaaa. i infiltrated his phone's music library and added "Boyz" and "Bird Flu" and he listened to those tracks on loop so many times, he even knew the hook! he really digs the indian village/oorax soundz on Boyz. "thana nananana, THAN nana nananaaah!", THAT bit :D i recently acquired Bamboo Banga off Kala and it sampled a song from the Mani Ratnam movie Thalapathi yo!!!!!! how fucken cool is that!! she really is a tamilachi lah..well done :D
