surreal
i forgot to bring sharpey
it drizzled for 2 seconds
we didn't get barrier spots but we did get a pretty good standing place right smack in the middle of what later turned out to be the mosh pit
the played arcade fire and weezer and U2 over the sound system while we waited...and waited...for 1 and a half hours
they started almost half an hour late
"if he says ni hao i'm gonna effing walk out"
the guitar tech messed around with the Mansons for a bit and the Kaoss pad was glowing and everything!
started with KNIGHTS OF CYDONIA!! how awesome is that! couldn't really pay attention to the guitar solo(or anything for that matter) cos i was more worried about trying to stay alive and making sure that the body surfers didn't collapse in a heap on me or anyone near me. the crowd was SO FUCKING CRAZY
the mosh pit collapsed during HYSTERIA (chris' thumping bassline! :D) and i was around the outskirts but the whole circle of crowd of radius 5 people fell sideways and i thought i was gonna die cos i couldn't breathe..people fell on me, i'm pretty sure i fell on someone and loadsa people got pulled out..that was about the lowest point
sinders got elbowed in the eye by some mofo
some american girl next to me got her earring ripped out of her right ear lobe and the horror on her face when she saw the blood was mortifying
they played BLISS, NEW BORN and SUNBURN!(i think i cried) and FEELING GOOD! so much piano! *trance-like state*
BUTTERFLIES & HURRICANES piano solo!! i heard it LIVE baby!! i've a video that's 20MB!
T.I.R.O(dom's drum bit during the ''bridge" :D and the crowd singing the bridge and chorus), PLUG IN BABY(SICKEST guitar riff ever) and STOCKHOLM SYNDROME = crowd favourites..the lighting was awesome for all songs
the solo on INVINCIBLE was effing crazy. i feel so blessed to have seen matt bellamy play it with my own eyes, not on youtube, not on google video...there was a spotlight on him (see 2nd last pic)
SMBH was so sexy people in the crowd swayed and danced in an un-rock concert like manner
i got to clap along to STARLIGHT
SOLDIER'S POEM was a pretty good breather..and more matt on piano is always a good thing
they played MAP OF THE PROBLEMATIQUE like, 3 0r 4 songs in.. if they chose to play that song only, it would've sufficed for me..thank you Muse from the bottom of my heart
and matt smashed his guitar(sort of) against the base of dom's drum kit..well at 'least that's what it looked like from where i was...*rockstarzxzxzzz*
sweaty bodies and jumping in unison.fondling and elbowing. pushing, shoving and nudging to get as close as possible to the front. breathlessness and pure bliss. sharing water with complete strangers. chanting "we want more". the heat, the passion, the CRAZINESS of it all...
*ded*
finally, big thanks to the K-man Mr.Sundah, the prabster, 7h3v4r, Sinders and Moni for their excellent company..we went in as a group but the jostling was so mad, we got seperated then rejoined then seperated again. but hey, we stuck it out, so more power to you lot!
