and every night the city lights, they'll be out for us

Radio 1 is the only thing that keeps me going at work every day. Without it I would be headddesking alot cos my job is a mindfk in questioningreality way.
"what am i doing with my life?"/ "did i just do this for the past 2 hours straight?"

the other thing that keeps me going is THE END IN MIND. if there's one city I love, its Munich. I have such vivid memories of Munich (involving G & Kel :D, and Nordsee, and Marienplatz and the may pole, and hofbrauhaus, and frauenkirche and the rathaus where I had my first taster of kartoffeln dumplings-yuck!, BMW welt, marvelling at Allianz Arena (from the outside -__-), the trip to Dachau. And of course my favouritest tshirt EVER hands down no contest: My München Bavaria coat of arms tshirt. Which ven and su got me version 2 of cos version 1 died-ed after years of frequent wearing and washing. :D :D I still keep version 1 though! just for old times sake.

the monotony OH the monotony.
but once in a while i get to do slightly exciting things like staple test sheets and analyze results and visit the clinics and read up on medical jargon which i later attempt to impress vin with. We're now on to autoimmune diseases, which as you will know, if you watch House, is when your body starts attacking itself. Big up Doctor Gregory House!! *adds House season 5 to list of telly shows to watch*

but i love getting to explore campus. and running into friends/family/others. I dont even have to send out a tweet, i mean a text, saying "Holla atcha girl! i'm in school today". speaking of which, blayne from project runways s5 made tim "makeitwork" gunn say Holla Atcha Boy in one of the eps :D HAHAHHA!! I wonder what tim gunn is like when he's drunk. maybe he starts doing accents.

ah where was I? yes, campus. i just feel so familiar with the place..since i've literally grown up and spent time at different points in my life there, for temporary stints. I went to the childcare, and I've attended a tonne of workshops through pri and sec school. I took part in a telematch in the sports field during a Family Day. I sent my first ever fax with Hi Appa written on it in my primary school scrawl from my mum's office when i visited. I attended my cousins' engagement at the guild house. I interviewed the kiwi minister for women's affairs at one of the institutes. Everythings just feels so right there, in a "I could see myself being a student here" way. But even then I dont know if i WANT it or not. It doesn't help that my application has been "processing" for the longest time ARRGH. gimme a decision, some closure, so I can move on!

ok enough of that. back to Radio 1. this past weekend, it was the Radio 1 Big Weekend in Swindon...I can't remember how exactly i'm slightly familiar with Swindon- I just am. All these pop culture refs that i can't put my finger on. Oh wait, i know there's some relation to Oasis. And loadsa famous people are from there. like the chavtastic, but adorable and v v lovable Billie Piper (ohman i have a soft spot for her. never thought i'd say that).
SO YEAH the lineup of acts was MADNESS.

Dizzee Rascal- I don't think Dizzee Rascal is appreciated in this part of the world. If Dance Wiv Me is all you've heard by him you aint heard nothing yet. Puh-lease.

Friendly Fires- Have i plugged them before? I can't rmb. They're fresh in a Vampire Weekend way. But ok lah they've been around since last year. Its only recently though that they've started playing at major festivals. And they have brazillian carnivale dancers on stage whenever they do Jump In The Pool :D TOO COOL.

This is for ven & su- cos i think of you two everytime i hear the lyric "one day we're gonna live in paris, i promise i'm on it" which is incidentally the first line :) ohh the entire song lah! every line!

Lily Allen- I was just telling ven today that I'd love to see her live!

Calvin Harris- OH MAN, i'm loving "I'm Not Alone" so much. It been played 23 times on my itunes today itself haha. Kenn! calvin, you, me..one day, ok? *proceeds to sing "I've got love for you if you were born in the eighties, the eighties.."

Doves- So chillout and so mellow. Su, i think you might like this song. and Netta too!

SO many other artists as well. Ear candy. But i think i'l stop here for today lah.
FESTIVALS FTW, for the variety and the atmosphere. And meeting others who like the same music you do, esp those people who show up for particular acts and where the other acts are fillers haha. Pity i didn't get to go for WWF this year *shrug*

I've only heard Dizzee Rascal on that one song Arctic Monkeys did with him during Glastonbury. "Temptation" I think. Btw have you heard A.M.'s old song "The Bakery"?
