welcome back to singapore. your sunny island has missed your awesomeness.
I just watched a Lovers in Japan Live at BBC vid from last yr. Jay Z and Ricky Gervais were shown, nodding to the the beat :} Although separately. And as a welcome home, my fave picture of some couple.
Hi Su Hui, if you see this!
su: oh su <3 this sunny island misses your awesomeness too!
jean: JEANN everytime i hear or see lovers in japan song or vid i think of you, cos you remind me of japan..and you'd so appreciate the images on the screen that was the backdrop for the band at their gigs.
I opened that pic and LOL-ed :D :D I was gonna say Hova's face was priceless, but Miss Thang's face takes the cake lah! :D
Sometimes I forget that they actually got married. I was just thinking today that it's quite sad Ethan and Uma aren't tgt anymore, but that's none of my business.
Aaaanyway, that last note that C. Martin sings at the end of "42"..how many Yellow stars would you give it? And which song hands down was your fave during both concerts?
yes, i agree! ethan and uma just..worked. beysus and hova? it's still a bit, weird lah :P
4 for Sydney, 5 for S'pore gig! Since he made that :o or >_< almost angry face he made at 0:41, and did the watch-checking move as well..What a HAM! <3
wow you're putting me on the spot here, jean! I'd have to say The Hardest Part, cos I'd never heard it like that before- all stripped down, plus i'm a sucker for piano solos.
Fix You I think, is a private song, not an arena song..so i couldn't appreciate it as much. Viva La Vida was fkin fantastic though, cos everyone contributed and SANG THEIR HEARTS out at both concerts. OK i could prob go on about every song so i'll just stop here (unless you want me to carry on..?)
"Went to heaven, said a Sup Homie to St. Peter and came back." Hahaha
They did a SMAP cover during Summer Sonic last year so I was wondering if they changed anything during the Sgp one, how different it was from the Aust gig. Since the concerts were so close, date-wise, and you went for both :D p.s. thanks for the fotos link! The confetti ones, heh.
I'm not familiar with X&Y and VLV so most of the ones I can hum along to are from Rush of Blood.., which was great. I watched so much MTV back then. Now it's always The Hills. Why watch a decoy on tv when I can see the real thing in a few wks' time? :p
On that note, see you soon Jax.
SMAP as in the jap band?! you mean, chris sang in Japanese?! OH CHRIS, ai shiteru <3 <3
he didn't do any special covers at the s'pore gig..about the most "local" thing he said was Singapura haha. But at all the aussie gigs he did a cover of this John Farnham song..watch it here:

it was on of those, i dunno how i know the lyrics but cool! i can sing along! moments.
Other than that I think i enjoyed both so much cos I got to experience the concerts from different viewpoints- that made a world of a difference. In Sydney I was in the concourse seats..wayy up high, but in S'pore i was on the ground floor. It was stunning both ways, but I prefered being closer to the band ;) Plus I was with Ven at the S'pore gig- that was an impt factor as well.
I highly recommend VLV. I recently chose my top 5 albums on fb on this application, and they were: Arular, (Jamiroquai's) Funk Odyssey, (linkin park's) Hyrbid theory, (Oasis') Dont Believe The Truth and VLV. Like srsly. Its as brilliant as Sgt Peppers LHCB.
Mtv has started to suck. Where are all the music videos dammit! I love The Hills and all, but wtf man. I hope you've gotten to see the Lovers in Japan vid though <3
As the albums progressed they get further away in sounding like what was off Parachutes, so it's really intersting to get a feel of all 4 albums, actually.
