Every year, I go to Hard Rock Cafe for my birthday dinner.
Every year.
This year was the first time I haven't done that in God knows how many years, and it feels odd!
But then again, I got to spend my twentieth birthday in Sydney.
Woke up to Happy Birthdays from the Vijayans and watching home videos of me and brothers and my folks and the Vijayans when we were all much younger and used to go on holidays together. There was even a scene in which Nish and I disagreed over playing London Bridge with this other kid called Nikesh and I promptly went over to my dad to complain :P My dad just asked me to deal with it myself cos I was being all whiny :P It was allll caught on tape HAHAH. And i was reminded of my backintheday afro..MAN i had thick curly hair when i was a kid! I could NOT do anything with that hair hahah!
After which we went to Eastwood for Yum Cha (dim sum). Good stuff yo! I swear to God it felt like I was in Changi Village when I was walking down the street. I forgot I was in Australia.
But anyways, I still want my xiao long bao when I get back, cos they don't have that here :(
After which we went to Paddy's Market in the city-which is like the Bugis Street of Sydney. Fkin fantastic. Bought my new birthday clothes there hahaha. *hint hint* (denim tights! dayumn girl!!! if i say so myself)
Drove home, got changed and proceeded to Darling Harbour for dinner at this place called Ice Cube. OH MAN, I still remember barely being able to eat anything in the Ice Cube at Gardens two days before I flew off- cos I felt so nervous about everythinggg. But this Ice Cube in Sydney does seafood and not desserts. I had grilled barramundi with potatoes, baby asparagus and toasted, skinned almonds. It was perfect..the combination of textures, complimentary tastes and the Riesling that accompanied dinner.
After which we took a walk down the harbour, trying to find a bar or lounge to go chillax at. Finally ended up at this place called Pontoon..they were playing a lot of Eric Prydz type House and then it slowly progressed to stuff that was making nish and myself wanna hit the dancefloor. And so we did. The chicks and blokes at the club were meh, and they didn't dance properly lah. But we two enjoyed ourselves :P Until they started playing all this 90's music..that's alright to sing along to, but not really to dance to. Especially after you play Nicole Scherzinger's Whatever You Like, and Chris Brown's Wall to Wall. It was stuff like Mariah Carey's Fantasy and Arrested Development's Everyday People. Oh well. So we decided to call it a night.
And now i'm watching Pool in the process of winning United..score is currently at 2-1. Well done, Nando! One on one with Nemanja "sonuva" Vidic summore hahhaha. CHAR!! I bet you had a lot to say about that particular encounter! Good. COME ON POOL. Get in the way of United so that Chelsea has a chance!
HAHAHHAHA RED FOR VIDIC!! in yer face, fergie!
OH MY GOD, GOALLL FROM POOL!! Beautiful goal, from a free kick summoreeee :D Aurelio!! Well done, mate!
kk, i think we can safely assume the match is Pool's.
