bowlinnng!

I love this country. They give so much respect to sport.
And they love their cricket :D
The ICC Women's World Cup is going on in Sydney right now..its been slightly over a week since it began. I'm so confused about the format..but I think its round robin and not elimination.

World Number ones Australia were beaten by India by 16 runs on Saturday (wooohoo) and the Indians beat Pakistan the week before (psyeahhhh). yeah DUH i'm rooting for India. I'm now wacthing the live match of India vs New Zealand. Indians are batting consistently, but not solidly. The Kiwis have brought their A-Game and their skipper's bowling was PHWOAR. She deserves every wicket she's gotten, srsly. And their fielding! The commentators keep labelling it "athletic" cos they really go for it. OH have I mentioned? One of the commentators is Wasim Akram :D Ex pakistani player..and one of the greatest bowlers EVER. Like, Muthiah Muralitharan level of awesomeness..except that Akram came first haha.

We're only up to the third batter for the indians though..I hope they can hold it out. OK maybe they can..Mithali Raj is playing. They love her here...talk about her in the papers all the time, raving about her skill and grace and excellent batting techniques. I'm watching her now, and I want to be like her when I grow up :P no really. She's superb. PLUS she uses THE reebok bat.

What i don't understand though, is why the Indians women's team don't have their surnames on the back of their jerseys. Ok, maybe some of them have damn long surnames..but I just checked the lineup and they're mostly maharastrian and andhra pradeshi, and not tamils, so they don't have to worry about lonnnnng surnames LOLLL. Yknow what I mean? I would be damn proud to have Raguspageddysauce on the back of my jersey. I would work my butt off to see that jersey materialise, if i ever even smelt the possibility of making it on the national team.

Gotta love the indian supportes...they brought Dhol drums and evrything :D Oye Chakde Pathey!
