let your life dance lightly on the edges of Time like dew on the tip of a leaf

just cos i'm feeling a bit sad now..
and my itunes isn't helping AT ALL (lionel richie's Hello *buries head in hands*)

its times like these you learn to love again..thank you Foo Fighters for that lovely line
on a whim i decided to join my fellow tour group mate (a GP tutor from a reputable college..ya i dunno how come i always get chummy with the gp tutz) on a 2-hour horse ride to catch the sunrise over Hurghada. In the dead of winter (well, it was only about 16 degrees), it was basically a trek through the property around the hotel but the guide took us to the fringe of the Arabian Desert.

yeah we caught sunrise alright
it was surreal, i've never watched a sunrise actually happening, and not on horseback at that

it wasn't blinding or anything. it got a lot warmer..just like if you warm a chocolate sponge cake with a chocolate centre, and you break it open with your spoon and the warmness oozes out and it permeates your body. even though that isn't really happening, that's just the sensory stimulation that happens, no?
even though the wind was like shards of glass on my face whenever the wind picked up(it really hurt), that creeping amber glow and the softest of blue gradients in the horizon just made everything better..the hairs on my arms are standing just typing this. sensory overload this and i remember it all. burst of colour, absence of sound, bitter gritty sand and dust, i can't really describe how deserts smell..they smell...dry, and the biting cold assaulting every bit of exposed skin

you know that depeche mode Enjoy The Silence? "words are very unnecessary, they can only do harm"

the vastness. the emptiness. the silence. the lack of movement.
like a dream.yes..that's exactly how it felt

this was taken at sunset in the same desert that evening while we were at the bedouin camp.
the colours. the purple pink and blue hues, click to enlarge.
i didn't know a sky those colours were naturally possible until i saw it

oh great, i'm still sad. what a generic term (ick) i dunno, cheerless melancholic woebegone, same difference
