i just left the telly (i know i'm not supposed to be watching tv and all but uh...i was taking a break! *guilty look*) where on bloody MTV hits: Dance they were playing the vid for M.I.A's latest track "Boyz".
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! *tears hairs out of head*
okok i overreact. but..but..now its mainstream and mass produced and that can't be good ;__;
i really wasn't expecting that cos its only been like, 3 weeks since they track appeared on Bobby Friction and Nihal ( who were the first in the world to drop the track). but the NETTA herself sent it over. [H.O.V.A love for you!]
*sigh*anyways....
the track is DOPE. you know why? cos its Thaipusam in june. *caution* the beat is infectious, just like them drums at Thaipusam processions. all that energy and colour is captured (somewhat) by the bunch of brothas attempting anjack moves; what a treat! the colour, yeah, an overload of trippy graphics and strobe lighting (:D haha netta). its like the Klaxons website in a vid.(but she was all neeon-coloured before they were) prolonged exposure may trigger epilepsy.
it really is south indian and you half expect Rajnikanth to appear in the video. nah jk...

i don't dig her new hair though :( the whole blonde ends thing is too..courtney cox for me. and she looks old. she had gorgeous flowy locks of curly loveliness before this *tragic sigh*

her album Kala drops 21st August (there goes another 27 buckaroos. well, that's how much Arular cost....boo! too ex! but *dramatic fist clenching gesture* anything for M.I.A. support the lankans!!
