without you today's emotions would be the scurf of yesterday's

lunch at grammaw's (grandma's) is always a pleasant experience. and via the multiplier effect, the pleasure is compounded manifold if the nephew is there. but the term nephew makes me sound old, no? i really don't mind him calling me by my first name and not some befuddling tamil term describing how we're related (father's cousin sister's son's son)- though grammaw gets real cheesed off when any of the younger cousins don't address the elder bros and sistas with an akka/anneh...*shrug* i'm not a stickler for that sorta thing i guess

intro nephew. lord ganesha+ lord rama=ganeshram=car obssessed little tyke. at age 5, i am honestly thrilled and mighty proud that he knows what an Aston Martin DB9 is (praise the lord!). and he knows the manufacturers and models of all his hot wheel/matchbox cars :D how cool is that! except that he mixed up Ferrari with Mercedes. he said ferrari SLX :P plus, once he got over his post-afternoon nap grogginess, he was cooking up tall tales about how his remote control car (don't you just love those!) overtook his friend benjamin's and flew over it and hit the tree and yadda yadda yadda. i think he had one too many tic tacs, the box with which he was impatiently fiddling while telling me about his 4-hour hindi class every saturday. but why hindi instead of tamil eh? welcome to globalisation.well, its also partly cos his mum's north indian, but thank God he comes over to my grandma's during the afternoons on weekdays..and learns tamil that way. must retain a bit of the tamilian-ness mah! but just like me and my bros back in the day and even now :P, he refuses to speak in tamil unless absolutely necessary. (some things just don't change)

kids and sugar. volatile combination. after a while he was back to little rascal mode(though he WAS rather toned down today..but i must say he's a good kid. doesn't kick/bite/swear/pick his nose in public etc. my grammaw's good with that sorta thing..she raised all of us ;) ok the swearing bit is something i developed post primary school) he jumped off the sofa twice..swivelled himself dizzy in the computer room chair...you know, usual kiddy stuff. then i got a text and had to take out my phone to check- and he noticed- and was super chuffed that it had a camera. trigger happy tendencies explain the pictures. the theme of the day was superheroes. first 2 boxes- Batman (masked hero, geddit?) next two, in running order, Power Rangers *mouth-beeps power rangers theme*. next 2, webslinging spidey, the flavour of the week.

then he got pumped with even more sugar in the form of cake. but he couldn't stand the sight of the raisins in the cake so he pretended to be sick in the "jelat oready lah" sense which explains the 1st column 3rd row pic. in other words, a very drama mama "nooooo! i can't take this anymore!" Moving along, he has the cutest ickle parrot nose(which isn't real obivous in the side profile pic)...i'm sure he'll be a hit with the laydeees when he's all grown up. oh! plus he's the big bro of the lil kiddo in the april 22nd post. they're the most affectionate kiddos ever..they restore my faith in rugrats..not the nick cartoon lah. i meant ankle biters in general.

yanyways, kudos to ganesh for ignoring the violent woman on woman in a jail cell action taking place on the stoopid urmila matondkar movie on Zee Tv that my gramps was watching -___- the plot was so rubbishy. i only sat through the first hour of it cos ganesh was still sleeping then and saif ali khan was in it too..as the villain *drool*

and that my friends, was my glorious afternoon.
oh, did i mention? during the p.e. slot, bensoh took us on a field trip to potong pasir central and treated the entire lot of us to tau hwey. we truly are blessed
