finally managed to catch up with Zane Lowe (Bee-bee-cee raydio one) and just this week Maximo Park played a live session at maida vale YAY!

even Zane bloody Lowe plugged them ok! their street cred just skyrocketed to the outer regions of arctic monkeys-esque potential world domination..just watch!

as for the Monkeys themselves, though i had "Brianstorm" almost a month ago, i just caught the vid last night and its RUBBISH. they sold out!! there're skanks going all beyonce and shiz..no disrespek to miss knowles but for pete's sake! i really dunno if they included the dancers to mock the hip hop vid industry but they were REALLY not that necessary okaaaay *whines&whinges* in all honesty, even if the monkeys passed off a recording of one of their live performances off as a vid, i wouldn't have minded that much. i'm sorry i've just been feeling rather abrasive this last coupla days *sulks* well mostly cos the effect has been compounded by that half-arsed sorry excuse for a music video that is "Invincible" by Muse. for a song that majestic, sweeping, powerful (you get the idea) the vid is the biggest anti climax possible with that ridiculous "its a small world" disney ride theme. ICK. i've tried willing myself to like it but after having watched it a decent number of times, even that has failed.

thank goodness for Kasabian, for instance, and their awesome vids for "Empire" and "Shoot the Runner". sick, slick and appropriate to the context of the song. agh so frustrating..*runs off to hide in corner and get druggie-high on Mika*
