Deutschland: Ein Sommermarchen (A Summer Tale..or something like that) is the first movie i've watched in THREE WEEKS. for the uninitiated, too bad go wiki it or something but basically its a film by Sonke Wortmann chronicling the Deutsche Mannschaft's world cup experience from Sardinia to the their place playoff with Portugal and it ended off with Xavier Naidoo's Dieser Weg (haha, see the name already you now he's a tamilan :P)
OH G THANK YOU! :D :D *kowtows* you've absolutely made my postpromos. i offer schweini in thanks *bows* (i'll bet that you probably already have this one *hides face*)
but MY GOODNESS at least 40% of the movie was him..and poldi ( both jokers!
*big grin*) and and bits of it was very nekkid men and their lush lifestyle
(that's the life man...though i wouldn't be too crazy about being
kitted out in adidas 24/7. but Strenesse=supah fly..no doubt about it)
and MAD fitness regimes (i'm surprised that they dont do yoga though)
and bits of angela merkel(she seems like a nice lady) and alot of
Klinsi and Jogi giving inspirational sounding post and pre match pep
talks. one of my favourite lil bits was the fact that scribbled on one of em mahjong paper-esque tactical planning boards thingers was Habt Spass! which means Have Fun! REALLY, i know this one! no need to check Langenscheidt dictionary all. i used this to end off so many informal letters under Frau Heng that she banned me from using it :P
plus there was this dodgy old physio guy who looked like Einstein LOL! i'm really not doing a very good job of picking out the highlights..i'm just a bit flustered today apologies.
oh did i mention, the entire movie was in german and there were no subtitles haha..quite honestly, you don't need them. language barriers don't take away from the passion and grit and team spirit and brotherhood and immense respect and goofiness that the Deutsche National Mannschaft exemplifies. and GOSH runon lines are the bane of this post
weltmeisters! (world champions) well...almost. but they're champions to me..and speaking of champions, there is a LONG overdue post on my captain, my hero John Terry (hand over heart, respect!)
how iconic was the Reading match. seriously..he's a captain(of BOTH chelsea and England mind you..PURE PWNANGE), one of the world's top centre back defenders, a formidable set piece and now..to that list of accolades he can add :stand in Goalie. the circumstances were very what're-the-odds.it was hard to make sense of it all..but he "suck(ed) it up soldier" and got on with it and did a decent enough job that the score remained at 1-0.
he didnt have to do much really, but he had the courage to stand in there and fill the shoes of Cech and Cudicini. and those aren't names you drop too easily.
he's not much with his shirt off..but oh well...
what a match. Cech AND Cudicini absolutely banged up and before that the return of Joe Cole. oh plus Two red cards. what drama. Oh i love this sport.
Hilario wasnt too bad at all *impressed* and boulahrouz..wow, i really like his style. he pwns ferreira..(or that clown carvalho for that matter) any day.
yes yes we all know Drogba scored the winner..but i'm not too big a fan of him no matter what (i acknolwedge that he's almost as snivelling a cheat as C.Ronaldo) but more importantly for me, it was Gudjohnson's first match against his ex-team
wow that must've been uncomfortable :\ I quite liked him during his time with The Blues..but i guess he wasnt too chuffed about not starting very often..tough luck man. but YAY chels won :D won BARCA. beat that!
and i just really liked this shot. i don;t know what team that is though *shrugs* its very..Olympics or something.
ok i give up
