welcome to the jungle

new blogsong= "love foolosophy" by Jamiroquai btw

national day was great(for want of a better superlative). dadders took us to beach road for authentic indon jengjeng mat rokking nasi padang..i missed having good ole malay food and this was solid stuff lah! rendang, sambal goreng, towgay, lontong, bagadel..the works! and i love how everything, although so different, tastes so damn yumtastic together. an entity is the sum of its parts. (gah you K&Inquirers!)

then after lunch, had a lil stroll along bussorah street and chanced upon a moroccan deli selling kebabs..AAAAAHHH!! vat a vaste yaar! but now that i think about it, the nasi padang was so good, its really ok that i missed out on kebabs. anyways, my love affair with the turkish dish is so annoying that everytime i'm in malaysia, i live on kyros kebabs. i dunno if its the carved meat or the pita bread, but its such a wholesome meal. maybe that's why i'm a big fan of burritos/subs/wraps and the like. i'm a convenience king...queen, i mean *wink wink*

(the hump de bump hasn't been tamed) so i'll stop talking about food already.

forthwith, expect golf jargon laden, semi narcissistic commentary and updates on my golfing:

spent the rest of the day at the range working on my 7-iron(both my slazenger and my new, i mean, my brother's old nike slingshot which is a beauty of a graphite shaft club), my 4 and 7 woods and eventually my stupid driver which still slices like nobody's business. with my irons managed to average about 90m but with my woods, phweeet! hit within 100-130 consistently. i honestly think i hit alot better when i'm knackered. the difference between my brothers(who have relatively more driving distance than me) is that they hit a lot of fades but i have managed to maintain a pure, centre of the fairway kind of shot 80% of the time. so even though i don't get much distance, my approach to the hole is a lot more clean cut and unobstructed compared to them. so you see! ya win some, you lose some.

so the next day, went for a morning 18-hole round at the OCC with the dad and bros in preparation for my upcoming handicap test (which'll be conducted by the men's team captain. oh bother -_-) and the previous day's practice and promising results translated to my game perfectly. (score!)

the first 9 holes were at the aranda course and it just so happened to be that the ladies' team captain was conducting a handicap test for 4 women and their flight was right behind ours. but the irksome thing was there was this buncha mofos in the flight just in front os us..some middle aged men who were imho, quite hopeless lah. they looked like the kind who'd been playing for years but their shots werereally quite CMI(cannot make it). and they were being complete arses delaying play and taking their own sweet time. the ladies' team captain,Susan, got so pissed she sent the marshalls to deal with them..HA! :P but anyways, when i finally got to tee off at the first hole, it was while Susan was watching and thank the heavens i hit decently (!!!) might as well make a good impression on such an influential person while you can eh? especially since i have to leave the junior programme(since i'm not so junior anymore..gah) and my only option now is to take part in the monthly medal if i want to compete. oh the horror! thank goodness there aren't too many japanese women who compete(that'd be total pwnage on their part)

basically i played the best game i've ever played on that day. with a score of 119, i bettered my previous personal best of 123. no birdies or anything. all i did was allow a max of a double bogey on every hole. if say i triple bogey-ed a hole, i'd have to make up for it on the next hole with the max allowance of a bogey. (thank you for the advice mathaa, if you're reading this)

Bogey: One-over-par (+1). These usually result from poor shot selection that result in unpenalized hazards, such as the bunker or the rough, that require an additional stroke to put the ball back into reasonable play. They might also occur from an additional putt. Bogeys are relatively common in professional play, and one bogey is not usually damaging to a player's score.

thank you wiki. my 4-wood worked like a charm (i didn't use my driver aka 1-wood, to tee off the entire 18 holes), my 7-wood didn't give me much loft but i got some distance all the same. and my new favourite club, ze slingshot, is so good i think i'm gonna abandon my original 7-iron and use it exclusively. the satisfactory woosh i heard every time i took a practice shot is enough to make me wanna keep at using it haha. short game-wise, was still pretty inconsistent. putting killed me on a couple of holes and i made a few wonky chips and pitches.

after a solid 4 and half hours on the course, me and my bros were all 2 apart on our scores. 115, 117 and 119. and we're all 2 years apart age wise also. what a silly observation to make, but hell its my blog :)

end of golfy portion

immed after golf, bimbled off to meet my luvlies G & KEL!!! :D :D :D it was such a united colours of benetton moment somehow, cos both of em looked so tall and lanky and gorgeous, kel with her vidal sasoon-esque bob and the g-ster with her curls all grown out and falling so prettily *grin* fancied some ice cream. B&J's is LOVE if i haven't already mentioned..cow love! but wherever we end up, its always just like old times. then we dropped by a poster exhibition on cuban movie posters. photography wasn't allowed but there was this particularly striking image of noughts & crosses with swastikas and peace signs replacing zeros and x-es. so kel acted as my shield from the stoned security guard dude's view and i snapped one. HA! shall upload the pic soon.

then there was the adidas concept store. WTF were they thinking putting the liverpool jersey's in the same effing rack as the chelsea ones!?!?!?! what a buncha GITS! and just a week ago the entire main display was solely dedicated to chelsea's new line of home and away jerseys. but now half of it was liverpool stuff...minging idiots! the adidas people i mean. then there were the failed attempts at figuring out the keys to play world cup 06 on the console *hides head in shame* for someone who has a brother who lives off playing football related pc games, i was a complete lost sheep. slap me, just slap me. baaaah.

and i shan't divulge anymore. what matters is that I HEART G&KEL so damn much. there! i publicly declared my love for my favouritest girls evaaaa! cheers, and here's to much more
