my post shall be in blue cos today is a special day.
cricket is love.
got back about an hour and a half ago from possibly one of the best camps i've ever been to(and i've been to quite a few, thank you very much). it was the right mix of slack and torture, pain and pleasure, fun and tedium. you get the idea.
so i'd to lug my stuff to school on the train on thursday morning which was quite malufying cos i stuffed my sleeping bag inside too and it looked damn malu and tak glam. and it COMPLETELY sucks that my dad's started travelling again..i could've easily hitched a ride to school you know! bloody hell *sulks*.
school ended at 115 so i'd a major slackfest. well not really..had this career tallk thingy.about law.this really young lady from harry elias and partners(where subash anandan works as a consultant) came down to tell us abit about herself and answer questions about the profession.for a litigator, she was rather UNimpressive infront of the LT mic..she kept um-ing and it was really quite annoying. but oh well, i guess she was just nervous. she's probably not used to about 20 students sizing her up. and if i ever do decide to try out law, there's a higher chance of getting unpaid internship at HE&P since Harry himself's an ex-saint. yay.
after that i attempted to finish reading the plain-english-annotated copy of A&C but i got sick of the tediousness of it all after a while. slacked on the gallery steps with D..slack slack slack. then we decided to go find loose tennis balls so we could practice a bit of bowling before the camp started. we had 2 hours to kill lah. and guess what..we actually found 2 balls! wahahaa! my throws had no "venom"..*dejected*
bla bla bla..camp finally started at 530. during the briefing we were informed that we'd be training with the cricket guys on the next day. WOOHOOOOOO!! *big smiles everybody*
as expected there was circuit training first.it wasn't as bad as the killa one i blogged about before.then there was dinner. i declare that this is the best packed lunch i've EVER had while at camp. twas from the muslim food stall. rice + wedges+ chicken chop+ veges+ sambal. WOWEEWOW! then there was banner painting..agh. so cool lar. D's and my design got chosen. well done D! (i swear it was all her work). paint paint paint.then there were teambuilding games. the one that really got to me was searching for green beans scattered in the patch of grass next to the canteen in complete darkness, with only one pathetically dim torchlight for 8 people to use, and wait for it..at 1230am. inside i was like, WTFFFFF!!! after an hour, we found about a 100+ beans. and i was SOO bloody shagged i fell asleep standing. momentarily at least. you know what was even MORE killing? after that lil bean finding exercise, we were told to head to the track. i was like, you have GOT to be kidding. "ok start running. we'll tell you when to stop".
but i ran. and ran and ran. i tell you, the sajc track and the surrounding area at 1 am in the morning is the most beautiful thing. and running in near darkness, breathing in the fresh air and taking it all in.. its a lovely feeling. i kid you not. those are the best conditions to run in. i swear i didnt feel particularly burnt out or anything after that experience..on the contrary, it was actually quite refreshing. i went from 3/4 dead to as alert as my classmates and i are at a big k lesson(haha). then we FINALLY got to bathe after that. and sleep. at 245am.
wakeup call at 7. had bananas and peanut butter/jam sandwiches for breakfast. good stuff. circuit training again but we were let off pretty easy. then there was training with the guys *fangirl scream!!!* its not so much the eye candy factor as it is the fact that we actually learn so much when we train with them. serious! every last one of them is so well acquainted with the game that what they have to impart to is so invaluable. oh did i mention that they THRASHED tpjc? 240+ runs and TP were knocked out after 26 overs. wooo!!
then we got down to playing the game propa. team 1 against team 4, team 2 against team 3, then a switch later on,that sorta thang. first game i got 9 runs(agh. yan yun was standing in the right place at the right time so she caught my ball before it hit the ground.dang.) 2nd game was much betta. 16+ runs and stayed at the stumps until all the opposing teams bowlers were done. hit one out of the field. whee!! 6 runs free :D and when it was my teams turn to bowl, i hit the wicket on my last throw. har har.and i'm sorry but i'm just mighty pleased with meself. kenneth(aka the only chinese and non indian/paki fella on the guys team who looks malay but speaks like an indian) said it was probably all tyco. slap your face lah!
and then we packed up and cleared out over the next hour or two. the whole club trekked off to pp macs for lunch. haha we had a whole section reserved for us. so cool. it was so anticlimactic lah..train and play and lose weight, just to put it all back on again.
and its soooo egg-citing. one more hour till THE MATCH. i'm decked out in chelsea blue for my stayathome and watchoncabletv match..WHAHAHA. and my bro is in that garish red. we shall see..JUST ONE MORE POINT BABEH!!!!!!!
and appa gets back tmr! wooooo! what a fab weekend.
