Right. So now that all the photos are up, let's talk about the actual day of the show.

Most of the morning was spent practicing dances and running through the ushering sequence again and again cos that was the biggest problem. Ushering i meant. i swear the ushering peeps pushed mine and kannan's schedules back SO much that we got into trouble with the teacher IC's so many times . Aargh. that was the most frustrating part. and i lost SO much bloody sleep over the scheduling, timing and planning and all that. it consumed me i tell you.

As for the dances, i was in 3 of the 6(or was it 7) dances and on the day of the show still hadn't had the chance to try on the medley costume until a couple of hours before the actual performance so i was damn lucky that it fit like a charm. AND i had three seperate dances and three diff guys to practice with too. Pradeep, Vishnu and Prem rock! :D I couldn't have asked for better.

ok moving along, i didn't get a chance to wear a saree like the other girls cos it made absolutely no sense for a stage manager who was gonna be running around to be hindered by a saree haha. but the pointy heels i ended up wearing with my all black ensemble didn't help much either lah :P and props to Jas and Aarthi for helping me with my makeup. I swear i was wanted in som many places at once that the fact that they did it so fast and so well was just life-saving..love em loads! and rukku too! OMG what would i have done without her. thank goodness she was there in the wings to help me change in and out of the medley costumes.

but way before the medley even began, i was in charge of getting the props people and actors from the three jc's backstage at least one event before their actual performance.thay all turned out to be really lovely people..except for one schoool lah. but i'm not gonna say which one :P those people were plain strangelable. ergh. but the MJC and TPJC girls were so sweet! they were so bloody nervous that i'd to give em hugs before they went up on stage haha. but at least MJ won :D i didn't actually watch their drama lah(i honesltly had no time) but iwas glad that at least the nicest group of peeps won.

Imho, the dances ROCKED big time. the only one i didn't watch at least 30 seconds of was "neon explosion" aka the J2's modern dance. the cultural dance was simply gorgeous.the alumni dance brought down the house, more so than the medley itself (cos they'd been practicing for 2 months straight lah..but DAMN they looked so good! as good as a professional dance troupe i say!)

in one word, the medley was EXHILARATING! everytime the song changed the crowd cheered so bloody loudly that their enthusiasm just melded with ours and it was so infectious.esp during "nalla saraku". i dunno if it was the audience or our own people who were watching and dancing and cheering along from the wings but the whistles, woohoos and applause were just mindblowing! and cos we ALL followed the "just whack lah" principle, we all danced our asses off :D and i ended up aggravating my already sprained ankle and now its in a bandage. the sinseh was kinda pissed cos it would've been laods better if i'd gone to her at least three days earlier. but dude, i wouldn't have missed puyal for the world.

Puyal pushed me to the MAX. i lost count of the number of times i broke down down cos it all hit me at once; dehydration, extreme hunger, exhaustion, frustration, esp during the last 7 days leading up to the big day. to quote murali, "the tension, the trauma, the stress, the workload, the screups..but at the end of the day, it don't get no better". i am eternally grateful to kannan for always being there for me and to Ranitha for giving me hugs when i needed them the MOST. the whole gang deserves to be thanked individually. but i gotta go redo my bandage now cos the yucky brown gunk the sinseh wrapped inside is leaking out and its so bloody gross :s

it was all worth it though..completely..
