school finally started. well sorta. we just had lectures..mostly introductory ones. no hmwk yet(thank God),but my friends who take history kenah-ed a SEVENTEEN page writeup about southeast asia which they had to read and then a list of 10+ questions to go with it.wah..damn sian man.which translates to..dang,thats bad luck.haha :P
we still haven't joined the j2's for assembly at the parade square so we had to sit in our OG's in the hall and sing the national anthem and say the pledge and listen to the announcements and all that while in there. then we had three speakers come talk to us for a whole hour about student leadership and pccg and then the principal wanted to give us a talk again.i mean, was there really the necessity for ANOTHER introductory speech?? umm..ok. i was so bored at one point of time that i recorded what he was saying on my phone. and this is what i recorded.
"...jc life by nature is boring.."
and then there's a bit where sarah and i both exclaim "wahlao!is he trying to turn us off or wad!?"
but it got REALLY interesting when he had this one slide which said 7 reasons you should stay in NY.ok i admit, that's not the actual title, but that definitely entails what he had to say. i clearly rmb reason number 7."nyjc is a rich jc". we were all like, "huh?? where got?!". what was THAT supposed to mean.
ok enough about that. we had our first lecture for chem in a 600-seat lecture theatre(LT) and SO many non-chem people crashed that some people had to sit on the steps. what's not to love about chem man? i mean, the syllabus sounds interesting enough and all.organic, inorganic and physical chemistry. can handle lah.but the lecturer warned us that we'd have to do mole concept questions during our next lecture. i still remember that i only actually got the whole concept 3 months before the o's.and when i got it, damn i was good at it. but now maybe rusty already..so we'll see how it goes.
we haven't gotten our CT's yet though.
then we had a GP lecture in the hall.haha..i think only 20 people signed up for KI. it was just an introduction to GP..like what the exam format would be like and all. no worksheets or wtv. was kinda half-listening and half-writing thank you notes in cards that we'd bought for our OGL's. i listened during the important bits though,so dont hold it against me :P
that ended at 1115 and my next lesson was only at 1345, so i decided to go home and watch tv or something. then this indian girl from cedar came up to me,introduced herself as karthini and bam we were kawan-kawan already(friend friend). she mentioned the fact that she missed speaking tamil so much with a fellow schoolmate and i was like "glad to be of service.i hope my tamil is up to standard".10 seconds after i'd met her, she asked if i wanted to go to j8 for lunch with her and another cedar friend. and i blur blur said ok lah. but i didn't regret it one bit. that "friend" of her's was Apree(i dunno if thats how its spelt), whom i'd known beforehand(met during orientation.she's in my house) basically apree is small, damn cool, a "minah" and damn damn funny.and she had my og-mate adeline in tow. so yes, the four of us just sorta clicked immediately.
went to long john silver.slacked and laughed about some ri ncc guy(whom apree recognised) who was sitting right opposite us who had been sabotaged at some ncc camp thingy and got his nipples pinched until they bled. sick. (apree was formerly of the ncc btw) i guess it was a bit too early for lunch cos we couldn''t finish our food. but from where i was sitting, i saw loads and loads of rjc J1's walking into j8. then lo and behold. i saw karthik! and he was with Vivek! WOOHOO! thats was bloody cool man. met subash and hakim and elijah too.but damn they're all so tall. its bloody scary.just four years ago, karthik was slightly taller than me and now he has to sorta look down when he's talking to me. haha.what fine young men rjc-ian guys are.
after that us nyjc-ians went back to school, got drenched in the process(even with umbrellas up! WTH...god forsaken weather..) and sorta hung around till geog started. the weather was so depressing today man.what was even more depressing was that the geog intro lecture lasted for a grand total of 15 mins instead of the slated 1 hour. we could've not gone for it and not missed much. WAHLAO. us girls could've watched elizabethtown at j8! see lah that woman!!!
hung out with sugu and her og till lit started.that was the only proper lecture. we did an unseen poem and all. and the lecturer lady was just so knowledgeable and she was actually in touch with populer culture(woohoo!).talked a bit about narnia and even about the fact that she had 5 boyfriends. she really didn't look like the type though.haha..cant remember how that bit came into the picture but we actually paid attention and took down notes and all that jazz.
so yes. i guess it was a productive first day. have pe on thurs. so not looking forward to that. all i see is the j2's running around the track..yeuck. i dont mind running..but just not round a track. its so..monotonous.
alright then.thats all
