so yesterday the 3-day Lexus cup started off at the Tanah Merah country club in lovely Tampines. honestly man, tanah merah just sounds so uncool. but what the hell, bloody proud that its being held in Singapore. can you believe ANNIKA SORENSTAM is on Singaporean soil now! was supposed to go with my dad and bros to watch the proceedings but my cousin's wedding cropped up. so yeah, if we couldn't watch it on all three days, there wasn't any point in watching it live at all. anyways could watch it in part on the telly with live coverage being provided on channel 5 and star sports.
well annika looks sorta pained in this shot, but by golly, she's such a powerful hitter. 200+ yards from the tee off point, while her asian counterpart grace park is doing less than 22 at a time. and rightly so, annika is the best in the LPGA, with a 75% top ten finish this year alone and 62 wins in her career! woohoo! girl power! and as the captain she's doing a fantastic job of leading the international (aka Ang Moh) team to victory. they're currently up 7 to 2 points against the Asian team after the foursomes and fourball rounds.
and check out her togs yaar..love the choc brown capris! i have a pair of minah-esque capris from Zara which i wore to golf today and they were nang! the asian team had black tops with some cool agoriginal art detailing on back just bellow the collar. pretty nice too but a tad bit drab. but moving on to more important things like the quality of golf itself, aree and naree song, TWINS!, played a fantastic round on their first day. accurate shots and a substantial number of birdies. got the points for the asian team and thats ll that matters
