Listening to Sunshine by Twista and Anthony Hamilton
"lovely day, justgot paid. Stack it up, be on my way. It's a lovely day...."
Love that song. So anyways, got an email from Linkinpark.com saying that "Collision Course" will be out on the 29th of Nov(international release) !! for those who dunno, Collision Course charts the process of the mashup by LP and Jay-Z called Numb/encore which has been playing on the radio alot recently( Note: Power 98 started playing it a week before perfect 10..muahahahaha). It also contains the entire live performance at the Roxy Theatre as well as a behind the scenes look at tha creative process and stuff. it ALSO includes...wait for this..OTHER mashups by LP & JZ!! INCLUDING... "izzo/in the end" (man thats gotta sound fab!) and "dirt off your shoulder/Lying from you". i mean like How brill is that?!
"h to the izzo, v to the izzay"
"get, that, dirt off ya shoulder"
Ya know, yesterday i was listening to Adil Ray but was shocked to hear someone else's voice on his show. haha. he was out filming Desi DNA so Dj Sanj was sitting in for him. So yesterday's discussion topic was "downloading music". Since Sanj himself is a memeber of "da industry" this topic was very close to his heart. and when ppl d/l music, his pocket gets hurt too innit. yeah so he said somethin that really struck a chord. he was saying that when he was a kid, it used to be a big deal buying CDs and Vinyls to actually build up a collection which you could feel genuinely proud of. but nowadays, since everything is downloadable, illegal or otherwise, he felt that today's kids were missing out big time on the feeling of pride of having a collection that you could show to your friends and stuff like that. he went on to add that kids have OTHER things to spend their money on, other than buying CDs, and that is: mobile phone bills and computer games. but i agree with him. it is Sad you know. This way, kids dont get to like grow a niche or develop a likin g for a certain musical culture like hip hop or classical music, that sorta thing. As the owner of a pretty diverse cd collection myself, its like, nobody cares that you own the original cds. they're like, "you can downlaod it off the net wad! cheaper mah!". hey you ppl, you're forgetting that along with the CD itself, you get lyrics AND album artwork too. haha..weak argument eh? :P oh wait one more thing. you get to authentically support an artist and in a way you also help to keep then around. the day hasnt come yet, where artists get kicked outta the industry cos enough albums arent selling. but at the rate this whole downloading thing is going, that day cant be too far away.....
